EC 302 DIGITAL COMMUNICATION

This course helps to understand the concept of Digital representation of analog source and the Performance comparison of various pulse modulation schemes. It discusses Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) problem in digital communication and to derive the Nyquist Criteria for zero ISI in data Transmission and focuses on the need for introducing ISI in controlled manner .. It helps to understand signal space representation of signal using Gram Schmidt orthonormalisation procedure . This course enables the student to analyse the error probability for different modulation schemes like BPSK, BFSK, QPSK etc. This course also introduces the principle of spread spectrum communication and  illustrates the concept of FHSS and DSSS and discusses various Multiple Access Techniques.
