Dr.-Ing. Varghese Panthalookaran MSc is Professor at Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology (RSET). He is the Founding Coordinator of Rajagiri Research and Consultancy Center (RRCC), an umbrella body of about 45 research groups operational at Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology. He acquired a Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) in 2007 from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, where he was employed as research assistant for about 6 years since 2001. He has a Master Degree in Physics from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). He has worked as a Guest Lecturer in Physics at Sacred Heart College, Thevara. He is a recognized Research Guide of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJKTU), Kerala, India and Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, India. He is also a regular Reviewer of good number of international journals and conferences. He is an Author of four books in three different languages, Malayalam, English and German. His drama book titled: “Buddhan Veendum Chirikkunnu” (translated: Buddha Laughs Again” has won him the Endowment Award of Kerala Sahitya (Literature) Academy in 2000. His book in German language, “Die Lehre Jesu als Schluessel zur Lebensfreude” is published by LIT Verlag, Münster, Germany. His doctoral thesis “CFD-assisted characterization and design of hot water seasonal heat store” in published by Shaker Verlag, Aachen, Germany in 2007. His book on creative thinking skills and entrepreneurship, “Condemned to be Creative” is published in Kochi, India by Pallikkutam Publications in 2019. He is Member of Professional Bodies like American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE). He was the Councillor for Education and Communication Media of the Sacred Heart Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, a prominent provider of education at all levels in India, during 2011-2014. From 2014 till 2020, he is a Member of Council of Education and Communication Media Department of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). He is the Founder Director of Rajagiri Media, an institution serving the different stakeholders of education through the printed and online media. He is the Editor of the magazine Rajagiri Pallikkutam, a prominent magazine on Education in India. He is the Principal Member of the Renewable Energy Sources Sectional Committee Mechanical Engineering Department (MED 04) of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) since 2012. In 2019 he has also participated in the Deep Dive Workshop at IIT Delhi, meant for developing research priorities of Mission Innovation Nations with regards to their Innovation Challenge 7, namely Thermal Comfort for All.
